Secretary’s Report

The Secretary’s report from 5-21-06 was read and accepted. 

Treasurer’s Report

The treasurer provided an interim report as of May 31st.  The reports were read and accepted.

Storekeeper’s Report

No Storekeeper’s report was given.  A Storekeeper’s inventory was requested [to determine what (additional) stock is needed, e.g., track nails]

Old Business

1) Bert’s Legacy – Some ads have been placed.  Tom did not have a working plan at this time.

2) Westerly Armory Show – [ November (Friday and Saturday, 17 and 18; 9 am to 3/4 pm)] [size 24 X 32]; Discussion -  They are seeking a (several) modeling demo(s), such as trees, track laying, or building boxcars.  It may be possible to support Willimantic on Sunday the 19th, with the same layout.  {Essex is Nov 4/5 and 11/12}  A motion was made and seconded to support this show.  The motion was carried by voice vote with 3 abstentions.

3) The July Trip – Travelers are to gather to discuss details after the meeting.  For details, see Jim Delaney.

4) Transition Module(s):

a) The approved Phase I has been completed over the last four weekends.

b) Two additional phases were proposed – II ) The 12 Foot (+ 4 Foot) Frontage – The estimated cost for track work, power/ control/ wiring, and buildings/scenery is $1500.  III ) Staging Yard – Henry commented on the track work concept of this phase, suggesting (a) locomotive escape track(s).  some additional discussion on this followed, and Henry would like to discuss this further.

c) Clark recommended that a request for donations be developed to help reduce costs.  It was suggested that this be put in the Newsletter.

d) The $1500 budget assumes the purchase of all new material.  The Bill of material is to be provided in the Newsletter.

e) A Motion was made and seconded to appropriate $1500 for purchase of the needed material for the “The 12 Foot (+ 4 Foot) Frontage” (Phase II).  The motion carried 12 for, 0 against, with 1 abstention.

5) Stu recommended that the Aristocraft throttles be transferred to the G-Scalers; to be replaced by new club built throttles [ per the John Waller design ].

New Business

1) July meeting date – 4th Sunday at the Bill Library.  No planned work sessions at Larry’s.

2) Jim Spavins will prepare the Phase II schedule.

3) The Secretary will check with the Library concerning available dates in August, due to possible conflicts with the annual book sale.
