Jim's Yard

The first module Jim constructed was built in January of 1996 just in time to be displayed as part of the Amherst Railway Society’s annual Railroad Hobby Show in West Springfield, MA. The 30″ x 8′ module had a small yard and was interesting to operate. It wouldn’t pass any prototype modeling standards but it gave Jim a chance to learn every aspect to the hobby. One nice feature of the module was that the control panel was built into the module – a first in our club – and an innovation which has been incorporated into many club projects over the last decade. Needless to say, as Jim's skills improved, this module was scrapped within two years.
