Niantic River Drawbridge

The Niantic River Drawbridge module was based on its namesake bridge over the Niantic River on the shores of Long Island sound along the Northeast Corridor in Connecticut. This was Jim's first attempt at kitbashing an operating model of a drawbridge. The bridge was set to one side of the module and only took up about 16" of length along the 4' module. The rest of the scene included some of the downtown Niantic buildings and a siding to Niantic Lumber. This module only lasted one show as the water was made using a resin product which did not survive the extreme temperature change of riding in the back of a pickup truck to the Railroad Hobby show in the middle of January.
