On Saturday and Sunday 28/29 May 2011, several Club members set up a layout at Christ the King Church, Old Lyme. The layout was set up in the church hall; the hall is called “Our Lady of Good Counsel.” Whatever your beliefs in these things, she smiled on us this weekend.

We have set up there before, and it is a very agreeable place to do so. Loading from the car park is as easy as it can be. The facilities are right at hand. Bill Paradis went out of his way to get us an exclusive weekend for a hall much in demand.

So we had a relaxed time. There were visitors, perhaps not as many as some might have expected, but it was easy going without the wall-to-wall people that come to Springfield on the Saturday.

Enough Club members were there that there was no difficulty controlling the trains. Then it was all over; the layouts were packed up into trans-ports; everyone left with the feeling we should do it again. The hall would accommodate a much larger layout.

Again, thank you Bill Paradis!
