On November 1, 2014, the club participated in the inaugural Conard High School Technology Students Association Train Show in West Hartford, CT. The show was setup to raise funds for the school group and help to highlight the projects the club is creating.
The club decided to take a victory lap and once again setup the same HO layout the club displayed over the summer in Cleveland, OH, as part of the 2014 National Train Show which took home the First Place Module Group award. In the club’s 34 year history – this was the first time we had setup the exact same layout for two different events.
Besides the club’s HO layout, a number of vendors were also setup in the cafeteria where the show was being held. In addition, the Technology Students Association setup displays – in a science fair type fashion – showing off a variety of projects. This included various electronics and programming works to audio/visual presentations to even other smaller model railroad displays.
Overall, the club had a fun time at the inaugural edition of the show. Plans are already in the works for 2015 and the club is looking forward to attending.
The same layout was displayed at the 2014 National Train Show.
