Willimantic, CT – Twice a year, the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum Sponsors a train show at the Windham High School in Willimantic, CT. This years’ fall show was held on Sunday , November 2. The show benefits the museum, and it’s a nice local train show the model railroaders in eastern Connecticut can look forward to each fall and spring.
This year’s fall show featured 4 modular layouts - three of which were operated by the club - as well as a number of dealers. The show has a relaxed atmosphere, where most of the regulars know each other by name. Even with just 4 layouts, there was plenty of variety. Each layout featured a different scale, with scenes ranging from typical New England Farm Scenery and rugged New England Shoreline scenes, to the Pennsylvanian Mountain scenes and even a module featuring a Midwestern prairie scene.
The show is always enjoyed by the public and model railroaders alike. Check the museums website, www.cteastrrmuseum.org for dates of the spring 2009 Show. See you there!
